Lowering speed & Stowage requirement of Lifeboat

        Stowage requirement 

1.Min height is when 20deg list & 10m trim in deepest condition the lifeboat should be always 2m above water level. 

2.stowed as far forward of the propeller 

     *in cargo ship with length of 80m and above but less than 120m, stowed in such a way, that aft end of the lifeboat is not less than the length of the lifeboat forward of the propeller. 

     *in cargo ship with length more than 120m, each lifeboat stowed in such a way, that the aft end is not less than 1.5 times the length of lifeboat forward of the propeller. 

3. Lifeboat shall be stowed attached to launching appliances. 

          Lowering speed of lifeboat 

    1.  0.4 + 0.02H meter/sec.

           ( H = waterline in lightest sea going                            condition up to head of davit)

    2.   Crew should be boarded in less than 3 min              after order and launched in 10 min from                    order.
