ROR Lights & Shapes (Simplified)
Mast head light - 225 degree (22.5 degree abaft the beam on either side)
Side lights - 112.5 degree ( In vessel of less than 20m in length side lights combined in one lantern carried on Fore & Aft center line of vessel )
Stern light - 135 degree ( 67.5 degree from aft to one side )
Towing light - yellow light having same characteristic as stern light
Flash light - means 120 flashes per min
All round light - unbroken light over an arc of horizon of 360 degree
Air cushion vessel : All round flashing yellow light
WIG craft : High intensity all round flashing red light
PD Vessel less than 12m : may exhibit all round white light and side light
PD Vessel less than 7m,max speed does not exceed 7kts : may exhibit all round white light ,if possible sidelights
Sailing Vessel : Two all round lights in a vertical line upper being red and lower green
Sailing Vessel greater than 7m and Vessel under oars : shall have ready at hand electric torch or lighted lantern showing white light which shall exhibited in sufficient time to prevent collision
Vessel proceeding under sail when also being propelled by machinery : shall exhibit forward where it can best be seen a conical shape, apex downloads.
Trawler : two all round lights . upper green and lower white
Shape - two cones with apex together in vertical line
Greater than 50m - masthead light abaft of , higher than green light
Fishing Vessel : two all round lights , upper red and lower white
shape - two cones with apex together in vertical line ,when outlying gear extending 150m, all round white light and a cone apex upwards in direction of gear.
Vessel not under command : two all round red lights in a vertical line
shape - two balls in vertical line
side lights and stern light but no mast head light
RAM Vessel : Three all round lights in vertical line, upper and lower red and middle white.

Mine Clearance vessel : exhibit three all round green lights ,one of these lights or shapes shall exhibited near foremast head and one at each end of the foreyard.
it indicates danger for other vessel to approach within 1000m of the mine clearance vessel
Vessel Constrained by draught : three all round lights in a vertical line
shape - cylinder
Pilot vessel : two all round lights upper being white and lower red
at anchor addition to it anchor light.
Anchored Vessel : in forepart an all round white light
shape - one ball
at stern an all round white light lower than forward one
vessel less than 50m may exhibit an all round white light where it can be seen instead of above lights
vessel greater than 100m shall also use available working lights to illuminate deck
vessel less than 7m , when at anchor, not in or near a narrow channel ,fairway or anchorage or where other vessels normally navigate .shall not required to exhibit the lights or shapes.
Vessel Aground : In addition to anchor lights above ,two all round red lights in vertical line
shape - three balls in vertical line
vessel less than 12m when aground shall not required to exhibit the lights or shapes.
Seaplanes : where it is impracticable for seaplanes or WIG craft to exhibit lights and shapes then it can exhibit lights and shapes as closely similar in characteristics and position as possible .
