Maintenance of Immersion suit
Totally 3 types
1.monthly
2.quarterly
3.Three yearly
1.Monthly
• check condition of storage bag.
• donning instructions should be visible.
• check condition of zipper.
• check condition of rectro reflective tape.
• check condition of whistle
• check expiry date of light battery.
2. Quarterly
• check head support & buoyancy ring to be inflated and tested for leaks.
3. Three yearly
• sent ashore for maintenance
• if unable to sent ashore and maintenance has to be done onboard, then pressure kit should be provided and testing to be done as per flag state instructions.
• test with air pressure of 0.7 to 1.4 kpa
• apply soap, look for bubbles.
• whereever bubbles seen coming out, mark that area.
• let it dry, repair as per manufacturers instructions.
